An Every Day Occurrence

As for me, I delight In the everyday Way, Among mist-wrapped vines And rocky caves. Here in the wilderness I am completely free, With my friends, The white clouds, Idling forever. There are roads, But they do not reach the world; Since I am mindless, Who can rouse my thoughts? On a bed of stone I sit, Alone in the night, While the round moon Climbs up Cold Mountain. - Han shan ( 8th century)

It's funny to see similar reactions and statements from such different sources.

The vatican says, "If you don't like our ways, go someplace you find more acceptable."

On a radio show, one guy said about people who find the statue offensive, "This is the Castro. If you don't want to see this, don't come here. That's what the suburbs are for."

Many of the comments made by Castro residents point to the belief that the complainant is a heterosexual suburbanite with homophobic tendencies. Assumptions. About four blocks from this place, lives a gay couple with two adopted children.
